Honorary members of DSDU

Professor Hans Henrik Holm

Founder of diagnostic and interventional ultrasound in Denmark. Chaired the ultrasound laboratory in Gentofte Hospital, later the ultrasound laboratory in Herlev University Hospital. President of the WFUMB-congress 1991 in Copenhagen, and of 8 congresses in interventional ultrasound. Honorary member of the DSDU. In 1999 appointed honorary member of EFSUMB. President of DSDU 1974-78 and 1991-92. HHH retired in 2000

Dr. Jens Bang

Vicepresident of DSDU 1974-77, president 1992-94. Jens Bang was appointed honorary member of DSDU in 2000. In 1996 appointed honorary member of EFSUMB. Jens Bang retired in 2003

Dr. Jan Fog Pedersen

Jan Fog Pedersen, chair of the ultrasound laboratory in Glostrup University Hospital, was appointed honorary member of DSDU in October 2003 for his work in diagnostic and inteventional ultrasound. JFP was the first to describe real time US-guided nephrostomy and abscess drainage. Vicepresident of DSDU 1984-87, president 1987-89.

Joseph H. Holmes, Denver.

Holmes, who died in 1982, was one of the pioneers in ultrasound. The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) each year presents "The Joseph H. Holmes Pioneer Award". Read more about Joseph Holmes here
