The Danish Society of Diagnostic Ultrasound

Annual meeting 19-20 April 2007

Information for international lecturers

The scientific meeting of the DSDU is held on Thursday the 19 April and Friday 20 April 2007.
We expect 80-100 participants for the scientific meeting and >150 for the social programme. The majority of the participants will be radiologists.
Course leaders are Charlotte Strandberg and Michael Bachmann Nielsen.

The meeting takes place at the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University situated in the heart of the capital Copenhagen. Below are some photos taken October 2006.

The historical newly renovated lecture hall will provide a unique setting for the two-day scientific meeting and will feature an exciting social programme on Thursday evening.

The meeting held in 2006 featured live demonstration of veterinary ultrasound at the Zoo garden in Copenhagen. We follow in this tradition at the 2007 meeting, which is co-hosted by professor Pia Christensen from the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University.

On Thursday afternoon and evening we offer a unique tour of selected facilities of the venue for the lecturers and course participants. Spouses are welcome. This behind-the-stage tour will reveal some of the secrets of the RVAU and take you to places not otherwise accessible.

Among these will be the veterinary hospitals for small domestic animals and large domestic animals of the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural School (KVL in Danish).

We will see the operating theaters, the radiology department with lots of ultrasound mashines and also CT. We hope to be able to demonstrate examinations on the animals for the visitors.

Hopefully we will be able to watch a horse running at 40 km/h on a treadmill, this is truly an extraordinary experience.

The "secret tour" begins at 5 pm on Thursday. I hope you will all be able to take part in this event. Spouses are very welcome. The evening will end with an informal dinner.

We will take care of a hotel close to the venue, please inform me if you require a double room.
The most conveniet is if you book your own flight arriving Thursday, preferably early if you wish to join the tour at 5 pm. Please let me know what time you arrive and your flight number.

Looking forward to see you in Wonderful Copenhagen.

Best regards, Michael
